About me
Psychology & Anthropology | Red Deer Polytechnic
Lesley Marriott is a fourth-year Psychology student at Red Deer Polytechnic with a Minor in Anthropology, set to graduate this June. For the past two years, Lesley has served as a mentor in the International Mentorship program, where they have developed a deep appreciation for the diverse social and cultural narratives that shape the human experience.
By integrating perspectives from Anthropology, History, and Sociology into their psychological studies, Lesley has built a holistic framework for understanding trauma and biopsychosocial hardships. This multidisciplinary lens is the foundation of their presentation, "Femicide in a Canadian Context." Lesley is driven by a desire to challenge the injustices embedded within our social, economic, and care systems, aiming to serve as both an advocate for systemic change and an example for others entering the field. When not focused on advocacy and academics, Lesley enjoys the company of their two eight-year-old cats.
