About me
Former Calgary Police Service Detective Michael CAVILLA was a Detective for 18 years, with the last 11 years of his career assigned to the Homicide Unit of the Major Crimes Section. Michael has investigated over 300 homicides and been involved with over twenty homicides and suspicious deaths involving infants and young children before he retired with 25 years of service in 2020. In May 2021, Michael was hired by the Tsuut’ina Nation Police Service as the Investigative Coordinator. In his current role with TNPS, Michael mentors and assists the front-line patrol members with their criminal investigations and assumes the lead role in any major criminal investigation that is complex and/or protracted. Michael, an avid soccer player, minor hockey referee, and rodeo fan, is married with two teenage daughters and currently resides with his family in Calgary, Alberta.
